　　1978-1981年間的巴斯奇亞和紐約市。70年代後期，骯髒的紐約市中心聚集了酷到不行的藝術家和龐克搖滾樂團，那個神話般的時代是出許多當代文化的搖籃，過去應該已經有不少相關的懷舊電影，但Sara Driver (Jim Jarmusch的長期合作夥伴) 導演的紀錄片《BOOM FOR REAL》是回顧那個時代的作品中，格外出色、極富藝術感的一部。
電影裡的巴斯奇亞是個無家可歸的少年。他在牆上塗鴉，寫上隱誨的詩，總是在找可以過夜的地方，還有可以和他上床的女生。他在Mudd Club和Club 57出沒，在衣服、公寓外、垃圾上面作畫，就是沒畫在會掛在藝廊牆上的那種畫布上。他是個謎團。這個孩子豐富的內心世界在他接觸過的每一個東西上產生視覺爆炸，但除此之外 (而他現實生活中似乎也的確是如此) 他說得很少，他都直接去做。本片側寫了這位沉默的神秘人物，還有他穿梭...
