　　父女檔洛科和露西亞就生活在這裡。洛科是一名嚴父，在這片土地牢牢生根，為捍衛土地不惜犧牲一切。生性外向的露西亞從母親過世後就不發一語，但卻有能力感應到母親的靈魂。洛科看見露西亞對著風喃喃自語，認定她一定受了詛咒，趕緊帶她去找村裡的巫師為她做法。
　　
　　
　　
　　某天，卡車司機卡敏出錢想請洛科讓他把有毒廢物埋在洛科的農地，兩人起了爭執，洛科鑄下大錯，帶著露西亞逃離家園，這趟旅程是洛科的贖罪之旅，也是露西亞成長的關鍵。兩人在荒原美景和乾旱土地度過漫長的時間，露西亞慢慢長成一個女人，她放下對母親的回憶，來幫助罪惡感纏身的父親。
　　
　　
　　
　　年輕的啞女又有了說話的能力，象徵著戰敗者在絕望中看見希望。露西亞彷彿那片沉默的土地，默默看著父親與欲以毒物污染土地的人發生致命的衝突。本片描繪了一趟神奇的救贖之旅。
