　　影片讲述的是，1941年，在美国ZF睦邻友好政策的号召下，沃尔特·迪士尼率领精选的一组艺术家及电影人来到了南美洲，在那里生活10个星期的那段历史。在《白雪公主与七个小矮人》成功后的三年里，迪士尼公司陷入了严重的经济危机，导致了那场规模巨大的动画家大罢工运动。那段时期，罗斯福政权开始密切关注着纳粹的发展以及法西斯党员在拉丁美洲的影响，而其他国家也逐渐的陷入战争中。然而即使在那么艰难的条件下，迪士尼和他的团队仍感到前途充满了希望，他们经过了许多南美洲的城市，大部分时间都是在阿根廷、巴西和智利度过的。其实，这一行人担负着非同寻常的责任，在搜集创作材料的同时，他们要把自己融入到当地的文化习俗中，要与当地的艺术家友好相处，还要会见当地的政治首领，他们的团队整个成了一移动的大使馆。后来，迪士尼公司创作了动画影片《致候吾友》（Saludos Amigos）和《三骑士》（The Three Caballeros）。
