　　1916年，第一次世界大战的欧洲战场呈现出胶着状态，来自澳洲的伍德沃德中尉（布伦丹·考威尔 Brendan Cowell 饰）在昏暗的地道中接管了一支爆破部队。18个月以前，伍德沃德尚远离战场，在巴布亚从事矿场爆破工作，同时与年幼的女友渐渐确立了关系……随着战事的推进，伍德沃德响应号召，凭借自身的爆破专长加入军队赶赴欧洲。伍德沃德起初的表现未令下属们折服，但在成功炸毁德国人的机枪阵地后，伍德沃德和战友们一起被派往位于比利时的“60阵地”，那里是一处令协约国士兵闻之色变的德军阵地，大家传说60阵地前协约国的战壕中洒满了鲜血。伍德沃德一行人抵达目的地，发现战友们已在60阵地下的地道中布置了百万磅炸药，然而引爆的时间迟迟未能确定……
