　　这部独立电影由《天堂一角》的编剧格伦·威尔斯（Gren Wells）自编自导，翻拍自2010年的德国影片“文森特想去海边”（Vincent Wants to Sea），是威尔斯的首度剧情长片。罗伯特·席安扮演的男主角文森特患有图雷特综合征（Tourette’s Syndrome），患者脑神经紊乱，身体肌肉会不自主地抽动，有时伴有咒骂与吐唾沫。 

　　母亲去世后，文森特的病情越发严重，与儿子疏远已久的父亲将他送进一家由罗丝医生管理的治疗中心。在那里，文森特认识了患有强迫症的室友阿历克斯（帕特尔），以及患有厌食症的女孩玛丽（克拉维兹）。为了纪念文森特去世的母亲，三人偷了罗丝医生的车，穿越整个加州，直向海边驶去。 

　　三人“各有各的问题”，一路状况不断，也有发现自我，开启友谊的温情片段。与此同时，发现三人出走的罗丝医生与文森特父亲也合开一辆车，紧追在后。
