　　电影里那些令人难忘而且优美动听的背景音乐是来自挪威的民间歌谣－Bla Tonar Fra Lom & Jenta I Saueflokken ，虽然影片中的“平民百姓”看起来更像是贵格会会员、基督教门诺派中的严紧派或者就是门诺派，实际上在美国并没有参与这种教派的挪威移民。在这段时间前往美国的大部分挪威人应该是路德教会的。此外，他们在谷仓的宗教仪式上唱的赞歌也是挪威语。
