1986年由尚格云顿首部挂牌主演的《血点》，这部在香港拍摄，预算只有150万美元的低制作成本电影，杀青后还曾因整体效果不佳而被冷冻了两年之久，直到1988年尚格云顿亲自重新剪辑并恳求制作人后方能在各地电影院放映。《血点》意外地卖座奇佳，全世界的票房收入高达3千万美元，范达美也初尝在国际影坛走红的滋味。
本片改编自空手道传奇人物Frank Dux的传奇经历。
